Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies Hirrd uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We aim to use as few cookies as possible.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and help site owners understand how their platform is used. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your device.
2. Cookie Categories
Under GDPR, cookies are typically grouped into categories based on their purpose:
| Category | Consent Required? | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | No — always on | Essential for the website to function. Cannot be disabled. |
| Functional | No — used to store your preference | Remember choices you make (like your cookie consent preference). |
| Analytics | Yes — consent required | Collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site to help us improve it. |
3. Cookies We Use
The following cookies are currently set by Hirrd:
| Cookie Name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Strictly Necessary | Stores your Supabase authentication session so you remain signed in across page loads. | Session / up to 1 week | Hirrd / Supabase |
| hirrd_cookie_consent | Functional | Remembers your cookie consent choice (and which categories you accepted) so the banner is not shown on every visit. | 1 year | Hirrd |
4. Strictly Necessary Cookies
The sb-*-auth-token cookie is set by our authentication provider (Supabase) and is required to keep you signed in during your session. Without this cookie, Hirrd cannot verify your identity and you would be logged out on every page load.
Because it is strictly necessary for the service to function, this cookie is always active and cannot be disabled through the cookie consent banner. You can delete it at any time through your browser's cookie settings — but doing so will sign you out immediately.
5. Functional Cookies
The hirrd_cookie_consent cookie stores your cookie consent preference — which categories you accepted and when — so the consent banner does not appear on every visit. This cookie contains no personally identifiable information.
We treat this as a functional cookie necessary to remember your choices. It expires after one year. You can clear it at any time using the button in the Withdraw Consent section below.
6. Analytics
Hirrd currently does not set any third-party analytics cookies. Any usage analytics we collect are server-side and cookie-free (aggregated page-view counts and error rates), which do not require consent under GDPR.
If we introduce cookie-based analytics in the future, we will update this policy, obtain your explicit consent before setting any such cookies, and list them in the table above.
7. How to Manage Cookies
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Cookie banner— on your first visit, choose "Accept All", "Necessary Only", or "Manage Preferences" to set granular preferences.
- Withdraw consent — use the button in the section below to clear your stored preference and show the banner again.
- Browser settings— most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies at any time. See your browser's help documentation:
Note: blocking or deleting the strictly necessary authentication cookie will prevent you from signing in to Hirrd.
8. Withdraw Consent
You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking the button below. This clears your stored consent preference and the cookie banner will appear again on your next page load, allowing you to make a new choice.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the strictly necessary cookie required for authentication.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add or remove cookies from the platform. The version number and "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect any changes. For material changes (such as introducing new cookie categories) we will notify you via the cookie consent banner.
